Question:

Help putting up curtain rails?

I just moved into a new place and want to put up curtains. I drilled to a certain point about an inch in then met with resistance. I don't want to force the drill in case its steel casing for electrical wiring.

I don't really want to put up a wooden base behind the curtain rail as its a rented place and while drilling holes is ok with them, sticking a huge piece of wood to the walls is not.

Is there any other advice? Like if i bought smaller raw plugs and screws that fit into the inch holes already made and secured them with something like No More Nails would this work?

  1. Get 1 inch plastic raw plugs from the shop. That should be all you might need.

  2. You could have just hit a nail. Move over a bit and hope you hit wood.
