She needs to go buy some pads, they are much easier then tampons  if she is just beginning, she can ask any pharmacy how to use them.

Go to the store and get her some pads or tampons. Try to get a variety pack for light and heavy days. There isn't much you can do. You can explain to her what having a period means, but if she is like me she won't want to her it, especially from you.
