Help!!! what song should I sing?

I have an audition for fiddler on the roof next week and I have no idea what song I should sing. I can pick any song. does anyone have any suggestions? I'm a mezzo soprano if that helps.

No phantom, No Alicia Keys, Fiddler on the Roof is very regimented rhythms that are almost like a waltz. You should try something from godspell or traditional work. From musicals such as, South Pacific, The Music Man, or Annie Get Your Gun. Nothing Pop, just traditional.

Although it's FROM "Fiddler" -- and I generally advise people not to do a song from the target show -- I have found "Far From the Home I Love" to be an outstanding audition song.  It affords opportunities to demonstrate vocal range, musical expression, and acting skill.

It's one of the few female songs I wish I could sing for an audition, but don't because auditors would find it odd to see a man sing it.  Ho hum . . .

Stick to traditional musical theatre like michael W said.
