Help with 6 week puppy!!!?

i just got a cav cross poodle yesterday! but all she has done is whine! i have already got a yorkie male 6 years old and he bit frightened of her and backs away but im giving all my attention to him! but when i leave the room she starts constantly crying! so i cant do anything what can i do she wont go to sleep unless i been in the room with her for 15mins! also is it bad that she likes sleeping on her puppy pads?

Don't go running to her every time she whines or else she'll grow up with seperation anxiety. She's been away from her family. Can you go back to the breeder with a towel and rub it to her mother's smell and the litters. Go back home and put the towel with the smell of her mum and her family to her pad.

I have 4 month old puppy and did the same thing at 4.30am for about an hour. My husband and I didn't pay any attention. The next day she did the same thing for 15 mins and did the same thing ignore it. On the third day she didn't do it anymore.

Hope it helps. Remember ignore it. She'll stop eventually.

She is a baby and is missing her mom and siblings,  She will need time to adjust to not having mom and siblings with her, her whole world has been changed in one day.  She needs a lot of love and attention from you and lots of patients. Try giving her some stuffed dog toys to snuggle with. She misses the smell and warmth of her siblings. may be a bottle of warm water wrapped in a towel .  Don't worry she will grow out of this but it will take a while.

give her some background noise like a ticking clock, radio or tv. She may be just trying to adjust to her new surroundings and being away from her mother since you only just got her yesterday.

Poor baby, she's scared and wants her littermates back.  I agree that you should not respond when this whining starts. If you keep giving the attention, the whining will continue and then escalate to destroying things out of frustration.  I've heard the alarm clock works for some, it never did for me. I give them a cuddly stuffed dog toy ( rub it on you so it picks up your smell).  

Can you put in a tiny (tiny) night light in the area where she's sleeping so she can see a little bit?  I found that helped, too.

put yourself in her place: away from mommy & litter, a new house with sounds, smells, another dog, and new people. And she can pick up the tension you're feeling when she's being a baby but she doesn't know what that's about.

This will stop within a few days, she's just scared.

He is probably just scared of her because she is new and whines. Puppies that young should still be with their mother. Giver her lots of comforting and attention and a quiet place to sleep. Buy her a small crate and put lots of soft, warm toys in there with her when you cant watch her. Take a piece of your clothing with your smell on it and put it in there with her. She is just a baby and will grow out of it, but it is a good idea to begin her proper training now.

first of all why do you have a six week old pup, she should be 8 weeks or older...This is why you are having this problem, she is missing her mother and siblings..she is scared and need to be with you as she would still be sleeping with her mother..She needs that comfert and love....Try and put her in your room so she is more comfertable...She is gonna cry like that untill she feels safe, as she would be doing that at her home with her mother and siblings...You need to comfert her and make her more confident in her new home and not just put her in a room all by herself...

If you saw what life has been like, up to now, within the litter, you will be halfway to understanding why your baby is reacting the way she is.  Regardless of your Yorkie being around.  Her life, as it has been up to now, has gone totally pearshaped.  So what to do.  Basically you have to make sure she's not ill.  Once you have ruled that out, you have to start on the training.  Harden your heart (and hopefully you have no near neighbours, or if you do, they are understanding of the situation and that it won't last!?) and set the ground rules.  Give her a comfortable bed in a quiet corner (actually I'd get a crate, but that's a personal choice), encourage her to go there, with a toy or two to give her something to focus on, and leave the room.  Do not go back if she kicks off.  If she's quiet, go back and give her loads of praise, cuddles etc.  She will very soon get the plan and will realise that life's a whole lot better if she cooperates.  Loads more to learn, but I suggest you buy/borrow some books on the subject.

I hope I will be able to practice what I preach here when my new puppy comes later in the year!!!  Oh the joys of having a puppy.  It's not all fun and games you know!

My experience with Cavs incidentally, is they are quite vocal - my neighbour had one - so this could be a breed trait coming through.

The reason your pup is whining all the time is that the pup was too young to leave it's mother and litter mates. The pup should never have left until it was at least 8 weeks of age or older depending on it's weight and if it was eating good on it's own.
