Do you think that the theme of Moby d**k could be about being able to choose your own destiny?

I'm not really sure.

But if it could be the theme of this book, how does it relate to Ishmael?

I'm sorry, I'm just really confused with what the whole book means.

  1. The major theme of the book is forgiveness and letting go of the past...

Captain Ahab won't let go of his hatred towards Moby d**k and so he dies along with most of his crew.
