Help with amps.?

ok i purchased 2 12" TC sound subs. 600 RMS im looking to get a amp. I know nothing about amps sooo suggestions are much appreciated. i did see a 760 w rms amp at best buy for 180 i believe

i believe those are 2ohm DVC subs so here are your wiring options http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer... so you can get impedances or .5, 2, or 8ohms at the amp

so the amp you need will have about 1200watts RMS @ the correct impedance (ohms), which means that the amp you were looking at is too small for your application- heres why you need to match your subs and amp properly

If you send too much power to your sub, you risk damaging it. The cone of the speaker and the mechanical parts that make it move may break under the stress. Surprisingly, too little power can also damage your subwoofer — in fact, it's actually more common than damage caused by overpowering.

When the volume is turned up and the amp doesn't have enough power, the signal becomes distorted, or "clipped." This distorted signal can cause parts of the speaker to overheat, warp and melt. Not good!

You don't have to match speaker and amp wattages exactly. An amp with a higher output than the speaker's rating won't necessarily damage the speaker — just turn the amp down a bit if you hear distortion from the sub and don't run the speaker at extremely loud volumes for lengthy periods. Likewise, you'll be OK with a lower powered amp if you keep the volume down and don't feed a distorted signal to the sub.

the difference between 600 and 1200Watts of power is only hearable and noticeable, not the fatal difference in SPL. if it is not loud with 600Watts, it is not gonna be with 1200W. People hear increasing the volume logarythmically

a litle incrase in the volume must be double in the power (5W,10W,20W,40,80,160,320,640,1280.....) so you are almost at the end of your subs abilities. If you want be more loud, Go for better subs. (more sensitive)
