Help with butterfly pull in swimming?

HELP!!

so i can do butterfly like i dont know my time but i'm not the best but i always get confused on the pull. i'm always unsure on when to breathe, like where to breathe when pulling... is it when my hands are just coming out of the water or what??? im soo confused but any other good butterfly tips would be great aswell thanks :]

also i'd prefer that a competative swimmer who knows what they are doin could answer this

  1. You do the breathing out when your arms are going down and breathe in when you complete the rotation of your arms, which will be end up with your arms overhead,  as your body is lifted from the water.


  2. when you pull u should take a breath when ur hands are almost out of the water. do not stop ur hands from moving. while ur head comes up ur hands should be coming out of the water. then ur head and hands should enter the water together. u should watch a video on youtube, there are some of swimmers there and u can get a demonstration that way. butterfly is pretty complicated until u succeed in it. then its fun!

  3. if I remember right you breathe when you push your head and shoulders out of the water (right after you kick and push down in half circles with your hands)

  4. buy a boat.
