Help with buying a refurbished mac?

Question

Would it be better if I bought a refurbished macbook online or should i go to the mac store in person and get it there? Please help, people who have gotten a refurbished mac.

ps. What would be good specifications for a college student? i'm only interested in the mac books, not the air or pro.

If you are going to get a refurb, you don't have a choice. They are only sold online.

Since you are a college student, if you are going to buy right way. A better deal might be to just get a new MacBook with Apple's Back To School Program ending Sept. 15. You can get a $100 education discount, a $300 rebate for an iPod Touch, and a $100 rebate for a printer. You can resell the iPod and the printer, if you  don't need  them.

If you do go the refurb route, you might want to wait another month or so. There are new models due out soon. When that happens the refurb. prices should drop.
