Question:

Help with desktop toolbar please!?

Ok, I admit it, I don't know anything about computers. I turn mine on and I email and shop and just have fun

But when something goes wrong, I haven't a clue how to fix it.

Please help me fix this.

Today, I somehow made the toolbar at the bottom of my screen suddenly flip over to the right side......AND, in the process of trying to get rid of it, I've made the situation worse by other things showing up that shouldn't be there........one pesky one looks like a pen and writing tablet and it's called "tablet pc input panel"

Could someone please tell me in EASY TO UNDERSTAND instructions how to get my tool bar back to the bottom and erase all this other c**p I've added accidentally?

Would be forever grateful, and I promise to come back and choose you as best answer if you will help me!

Thanks

Robin

  1. I think you are talking about the taskbar.

All actions you do to MOVE the taskbar back to the bottom will be done in the middle of the taskbar (don't click on the right or left sides).

Leave this window open, and close all others.

Right click on the taskbar (that is on the right side of your screen) and make sure the "Lock Taskbar" option is NOT checked.  If it is, then click it to uncheck it.

Now Click and hold (hold down your left mouse button) in the middle of the taskbar.  Don't let go of the left mouse button.

Now, drag your pointer (still holding down the left button) to the bottom of the screen.

Let go of the left mouse button.  Your taskbar should now be at the bottom of the screen.

Now right click the taskbar and check the "Lock Taskbar" option.

Now right click the taskbar and "point" (with your mouse) to the "Toolbars" option.  This will bring up a submenu that will have the "Tablet PC and Input Panel" option.  If it is checked, click it to uncheck it.

That should take care of your issues (I hope)

  2. move your mouse pointer to the toobar in a place where there are no icons and left click and drag it back to the bottom of the screen and take your finger off the mouse..thats it..
