Help with floating device!!!!?

when i was at the beach i saw this huge floating platform that had three or four people on it... in the water and i cant figure out what it was.

If it had two pontoons on the underside then it is a common swimming raft ...we have those on our lake ---it's most likely a swim platform with an anchor
