Help with horse names?

Okay, I just bought a Thoroughbred mare. However, she's registered. If I want to show her in a USEF sponsored dressage show, do I have to use her registered name, or can I give her whatever show name I want?

What color is she? I would probably name her something like Destiny.

You can give her whatever name you want. As long as it's on your coggins, my friend's horse is "Mom's Little Devil" in the Jockey Club, but she shows him as "Grey Expectations" in her USEF shows.

I don't show so I wouldn't know. I would guess you would have to use her registered name, although you can ask the people that run the show!

i think its their registered name. but i am not sure. i always went by my horses registered name just to be safe! good luck and congratz!

you can give her what ever name u want to just make Shir she does not get con fused
