Help with ipod nano??

my parents just got me a new laptop. before i had to use the family computer so all my songs are in there. i have an ipod nano the one that came out before this new one. how can i transfer all my songs from my ipod to my new laptop. all the music that i have on my ipod is from emule or limewire so i didnt purchase anything out of itunes. i also saw those programs on the computer to transfer music from the ipod to a computer, but you have to pay for some of them. and i also tried to put all my music on cds and then downloading them to my laptop, but that didnt work either. how can i transfer my music from my ipod to my laptop??

if you have a flash drive that has enough GBs to hold your entire music, then all you have to do is connect it (on family computer) and then go to music and look for the itunes folder. then all you do is just drag it into the USB flash drive. then disconnect it and connect it to your new one and transfer all your songs.
