Help with maths revision?

Well I'm trying to revise for my GCSE maths exam but I can't work this question out!

The sides of a right-angled triangle are x, (x+2) and (2x-2). The hypotenuse is length (2x-2). find the actual dimensions of a triangle.

I've started working it out but now I'm stumped. So basically have I gone wrong or is it right so far in which case can you tell me what I need to do next? Here's what I've done so far:

x^2 + (x+2)^2 = (2x-2)^2

x^2+x^2+4+4x = 4x^2 +4 -8x

2x^2+4+4x = 4x^2+4-8x (-4x^2)

-2x^2+4+4x = 4-8x (-4)

-2x^2+4x = -8x (+8x)

-2x^2+12x = 0

now what?!?!

I would do this:

divide each side by -2x:

x-6=0

Therefore, x=6. You can then find out the other sides and check to see if it's correct.
