  1. Gosh, this is a difficult one, really I don't think there is much you CAN do, this is a natural thing for a puppy to do. You don't need help with your lawn, its your puppy you need help with.  The only thing I can think of is, pading the dogs front paws when you let him on the lawn, or startle the wits out of it when it starts to dig. good luck

  2. I like to use a bare patch repair grass/fertilizer/   mix.   It fills in bare spots wonderfully.

Dig out the dead grass and rough up the ground some, put a mound of the repair in. (it is blue and fluffy and has everything you need. The blue stuff works like hay to protect the seeds from birds)   Water it frequently to keep it moist.  I always get new grass in a week or less.

  3. You have two separate issues. As for the grass, dog f***s will not cause browning but will actually act  as a fertilizer resulting in greener grass in small areas, If you don't want to step in it just pick it up. Urine is a different story especially with female dogs as they they tend to relieve themselves in one place Most male dogs like to mark different areas. You could water the areas right after they go to dilute the urine. If you had a large area covered in pine straw and used a leash until the dogs understood this was the designated bathroom area that might help. After awhile most dogs will get the idea and go to the area without you making them.

If you have a grass that spreads by runners, you really don't have to do anything to repair the dead spots. They'll fill in over time. If you have something like Fescue or Kentucky bluegrass, you'll need to reseed those areas and water them for a couple of weeks to fill in.

As for the puppy digging, this is a behavioral problem and could just be from boredom of being left alone. Talk to a dog trainer about measures to get it to stop.
