Ok I completely got rid of this virus that was sent to me but after I got rid of it the only problem is it takes my computer awhile to sign onto an account and everytime I'm on the internet other sites randomly pop up and it's really annoying. (Not the same site, some dating service, some account thingy, and others)

How do I got rid of this problem?

  7. Your computer is infected with something called "adware" or "spyware".  You could try to install SpyBot, or any other spyware removal program. Spybot is free, you may download it from here: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl...

The only realy safe solution is to delete everything and reinstall Windows from the Windows CD.

This is not difficult in itself, the tricky part is how to spare the documents, pictures and other information you don't want to delete.

One solution is to buy an extra harddisk, attach it to the computer and copy all personal information like documents, pictures etc. to that drive.

After that, shut down your computer, put in the windows cd and restart. You should be greeted by a setup screen which guides you through the reinstall.

You will have to reinstall all your extra programs too (like Microsoft Word etc.)

  8. Yup, thats called a virus. You can never really get rid of it unless you reset your computer. You will need to do a total reload of windows XP. If you remember when you got you computer, you might have also got a CD that reloads the entire computer software. Put that disk in and restart your computer. Follow the steps and you virus will be completely eliminated. Although I should add that all of your previous memory from computer will be erased and your computer will start off as new.
