How do I work on the sliding my front foot portion of an ollie?

That's the part I mess up on the most.

The pop is no problem, but this is the part of the ollie that keeps me from landing it.

  1. when you can't slide your foot all you have to do are

position you feet... one on the tip of the tail and the other about 3 inches behind the front bolts

Pop the tail and as soon the the BACK wheels are off the ground you need to jump up and LEAN your body foward untill your shoulder is above your foot again.

All the lean is for is to help you slide your foot so you don't need to slide it but if you lean foward it will naturaly slide.

  2. Well what you really want to work on is doing this step by step. Right when you pop it you want to roll your ankle up the board on an angle. It's kind of like pushing your foot up the grip after you pop but your rubbing the side of your foot along the grip tape. It's kind of hard to explain but for more help check out some online videos on how to ollie at youtube or something. It really helps. Watching videos helped me with my 360 flips.

  3. well this helped me out when i started skating, its a fact how if your back foot is more back ( middle of deck )  the higher you get, but i found if the front foot is abit more forward ( just before bolts ) its alot more stable.

so basically do your ollie in these steps.

    bend your knees down,

    jump and pop your deck,

    slide foot up,

    land on bolts.

    hope this helped.

also make sure your deck isn' t too small for you.
