"Mr. Davis comes into the classroom and he is doing cartwheels and singing the theme to the movie Superman. Explain his behavior through the eyes of the following perspectives. 1-2 sentences per each.

1. Structural psychologist

2. psychodynamic psychologist

3. humanistic psychologist

4. biological psychologist

5. cognitive psychologist

I just want to know what each of the 5 types psychologists are and how they think and view things.

It is too difficult to explain the 5 types out, because many of them incorporate too many different aspects.  However, here's how they'd explain his behavior.

1. Contemporarary structuralism would try to find what parts of the brain are causing the action, and what parts have led him to do such actions.

2.  The psychodynamic guys would probably say something like he is reverting to his childhood because he secretly wants to bone his mother.

3.  Humanistic psychologist would try to connect the behavior to their own subjective experience, and explain it in their own terms.

4.  A biological psychologist would focus on Mr. Davis's body, and would try to explain his behavior in terms of physiology - his heart rate, his blood pressure, glands and NTMs.

5.  A cognitive psychologist would try to find out what Mr. Davis's reasoning or rationale was for his behavior.  They would explain his actions in terms of higher brain function and reasoning... or would say that he has a mental disorder that is impeding his ability to be rational.
