I have a group interview tomorrow for a high street clothes shop, River island. I've had 2 jobs previsouly, working with tescos which i got in because of my friend, and a cleaning job i got in as you dont need an interview. I never passed the tesco interview at first till my friend told me to phone as they needed someone, so that was easy.

i'm not confident to pass interviews, im wondering if anyone can help me with some questions they ask. I love shopping and i love river island clothes i would really love to work for them. please help :(

  1. Ok you know the clothes good.

Know a bit about the company, look on the website know abit about their history.

Wear a smart river island top or suit if u have one.

Smile, be polite and sell yourself, after all they want someone approachable who can sell and is polite and helpful.

    I love RI myself.

    they might ask

Why RI, where do you see  yourself in 5 years, what would you do if you witnessed a shoplifter, know what you will say.

Do you hair smart, not too much make up. Be confident even if you dont feel it. Imagine you have gone to have a chat with someone you already know. Good luck, make sure you know a little about the shop, and the company and also the competition.  Fingers crossed for you x

  2. I know it's really nervous going for an interview. Pretend you are an actress and you have to be super confident (just for a wee while!) Wear nice black trousers, white shirt but something that will make you different from everyone else like a really nice sparkly brooch or hair clasp so they will remember you. Ask as many questions as you can and say how good you are at selling things (for example recommending tops to go with skirts/trousers and matching accessories.) After all, it is a money making business and if they think you can sell more products then that's even better! Try to be confident and remember to smile! Good luck!

  3. I worked in retail for a few years... you said you love shopping and you love river island clothes... make sure you let them know that!!!  Don't keep going on about it though.

Also dress river islandey... don't wear anything too tarty.

In retail a lot of managers ask "What si the most important aspect of our shop?"... you're answer is "the customer" every time.

    Good luck!
