  1. You could try to make apple candles. You just core the apples, carve them like jack-o-lanters and put candles inside. They're pretty and simple, trying looking on martha stewards website, she has tons of design. In real simple weddings, (from Crate and Barrel) they have these pictures of aisle runners made out of paper bags with candles in them that are just beautiful. There simple and probly inexpensive to get and make.

also, for invitations, there's a store called Papyrus, that has great deals on paper, and they can help you design your own invitations. You could just order paper, and send them off to a printer with one example, which might cost you less than 100 to get them all printed. Check out Kinko's and Staples, they have great printing services.

  2. I bought my invitation paper from Michaels but now walmart carries the same kind and I printed them out myself it was so easy.. i googles invitation verses and found some great ones.  They looked professional.

With centerpieces for an october wedding .. a friend of mine took pumpkins and cut hearts into them and put candles in them with some fall colors ( I think she used fake leaves) and put them under the pumpkins on the tables.. it was so cute

  3. You will not go wrong trying out the invitations/programs and all other wedding stationery offered by the site below. They also have a great wedding article section where you can read up on anything wedding.

Plus, it seems you want to go the DIY approach.

They have program templates, invitation templates, menu templates, thank you card templates, rsvp card templates etc. etc. All of these templates are in MS Word format, so you can download and just replace the designs and text with your own.

The last time I was there they gave you 10 free downloads.

  4. Centerpieces with a floating candle in a fishbowl can be elegant and cheap.  You can buy super cute invitations at Target and print them yourself.

  5. I am using my centerpieces as my favors.  All I'm doing is buying all different size vases and all different candy that will match my wedding color (purple for me). the vases full of candy will serve as the centerpieces and then every guest gets a white paper bag and at the end of the night they can fill their bags with what ever candy they want.  Easy, cheap, and every one gets something they like.  As for invitations you can buy kits that you can print your own at home.  Here's a link to a site that has D.I.Y. invitations.

  6. Michael's has a lot of great stuff for weddings! also walmart does as well and if you watch stuff it goes on clearance and you can get it for like under a dollar

  7. buy the printable invitation at most any office supply or craft store or even walmart.  Then print them at your home computer using whatever working you'd like.

For centerpieces use smaller pumpkins, cut out the tops and empty out everything from inside.  then get a fall potted plan like a mum and plant in in there.  Or you can fill it with water and put cut flowers in.

  8. You can get simple but elegant invitations at wal-mart. And use flower, candles for simple decor.

    good luck to you. :)

  9. Easy Invitations:

Purchase a kit from the craft store, then you will have all of the envelopes/reply and bases for your invites.  Buy card stock in the scrap booking section in one of the colors of your wedding, cut them down 1/4" all the way around, then purchase either ivory or white (depending on the color invites you choose) card stock as well.  These will need to be cut down yet another 1/4" and then printed up on your home computer.  Make sure the change the font and color of print to compliment your invites.  Then tape the layer in place using double sided tape.  Use your paper punch to make 2 small holes near the top of the invite (make sure to place the print down about an inch from the top) then thread a piece of sheer ribbon and tie a simple knot.

I did this for our wedding and everyone raved about them, and they only cost me approx. $30.00 for 50 invites.

  10. I don't know about the invitations but the centerpieces could be long neck vases filled 1/4 the way with peebles preferably ones with a marble or glassy look place beta fish in them and floating lilles or candles I saw this on HGTV there is a show about planning weddings.. you should watch it.It shows all the tricks and trades of planning a wedding and how to doit with no much expense..
