[Sq.Rt. of (3x+1)] - [Sq.Rt. of (3x+8)] = 0

How do i solve this? Please help and tell me how u got the answer too.

  1. √(3x+1) - √(3x+8) = 0

    √(3x+1) = √(3x+8)

    square both sides

    3x+1 = 3x+8

    1 = 8

    not a valid equation

  2. [Sq.Rt. of (3x+1)] - [Sq.Rt. of (3x+8)] = 0

    [Sq.Rt. of (3x+1)] = [Sq.Rt. of (3x+8)]

    3x+1 = 3x+8 <-- Square both sides

    1=8 <-- Subtract 3x from both sides

    This is false, so this problem has no solutions
