  1. I agree with the first answer!! you have to be loud and go for the ball. if you are scared of the ball then you have no chance. if you are not a good passer or server i would get a volleyball and practice passing to yourself and have someone throw balls to you and you pass them back. also coaches are looking for effort. Put as much effort into everything you do and show them (if you are a fast runner) your alertness and quickness on the floor. And don't be afraid to hit the floor is u absolutely have to. Try running through the ball first but the floor won't hurt you.

  2. The coaches will look for someone who is aggressive and isn't afraid to call the ball or hit the ball. You want to assert yourself. Always go for the ball and never let it drop between you and your teammate - call them off.

Volleyball has four basic points - bumping, serving, setting, and spiking. The coaches will look to see how well you do in each of those areas, Most likely if you can't serve or bump, you won't have a high chance of making the team.

Being a fast runner isn't necessary. Though, being ready to move and alert is. If you are the fastest runner in the world and yet you don't go for the ball or you aren't ready ... you aren't any good.

Good luck with tryouts. If you have any questions, please e-mail.
