can someone tell me what hennessy is?

stephanie M is wrong. Gadfly is right, hennessy is cognac and cognac is a type of brandy. I am not sure if stephanie is lying on purpose or not trying to get some points or she is just ignorant.

BTW why do people repeat the same answer 100 times when the first person gave the correct answer?
