  1. well i absolutly love lundqvist (big rangers fan) but after watching that one game in the finals i have to give it to fleury

  2. if i was starting a team i would take Lundqvist. i saw Fleury stand on his head a few games in the playoffs, but i also saw him let in some pretty soft goals.

  3. ffffffflllllleeeeeeeuuuuurrrrrrrryyy. but yeah i don't like anyone that is not a penguin.

  4. Marc Andre Fleury -

he comes back from an injury and just look at how amazing he played.

  5. I say Lundqvist. Fleury hasn't even proven himself to be consistent yet.

  6. I am a Pens fan, but would probably take Lundqvist. Fleury is young but is very athletic also has a tendancy to give up the soft ones  in huge situations. Lundqvist is solid.

  7. Lundqvist.

I'm a Pittsburgh fan, but I've never been sold on Fleury. Mark my words...........we better pray to the lords we have a better back up goaltender than Dany Sabourin next year.

  8. Lundqvist is alot better!!!!

Fleury isn't that good but the Penguins D-fence is good

Lundqvist and Nabakov are the best in the league there is no comparrison with Fleury!

  9. Lundqvist is the better goalie.  He's been a Vezina finalist his only three years in the league, he has an olympic gold medal, and he won the SEL during the lockout year.

    And, he's only 26.

Fleury is a solid goalie too, and he played an excellent 2nd half of the season (and a very impressive playoff run, too).  Lundqvist had his worst of his three NHL seasons, with little support from the low-scoring Rangers.  Lundqvist typically starts out the season very slow, but really turns it on and plays great later in the season.  He also gets up for big games, hence his 7-0-1 record against the devs this year.

He didn't play as well in the playoffs as I would have liked (obviously), but he did play very very solidly and many of the goals were not his fault.  When he is on, though, he makes saves that he has no business making... which is something I don't see Fleury doing regularly.

  10. Lundqvist......hands down.

  11. Lundqvist

  12. lundqvist. i think that a lot of fleury's saves/wins were luck, lundqvist's aren't. its gotta mean something when a guy is nominated for the venezia trophy three years in a row when he has only been in the league for three years.

  13. Lundvist- period. Fleury's run this year was a fluke- mark my words. They'll be bacl to Conklin (or someone else) by November.

  14. Don't Be Biased Dude!

    Marc-Andre Fleury Is The Man

Even if he falls down on the Ice.. He got right back up and skated away

  15. Lundqvist.

  16. Lundqvist may be the better player at the moment, but give him a couple of years and Fleury will be better than Lunqvist is today.  Accounting for the minor age difference and judging by how much Marc-Andre has improved just over the last season, I would say that Fleury.  Especially looking at Fleury's overall playoff performance.  He is no question going to be great.

  17. Lundqvist. Go on youtube and look at clips from his final season on frolunda when all the nhl players were over there during the lockout. The Swedish Elite League is the best league other than the NHL. He won the playoffs that year against nhl players. And something I find with Lundqvist is that alot of his saves although amazing are pretty much text book and just made because of positioning. I always get in arguments with my friend's because I say Brodeur looks amazing because he messed up in the first place. Lunqvist looks amazing because he does things right. Don't get me wrong though, Brodeur has to be good to make those saves but alot of them shouldn't have to be made in the first place. And about Lundqvist having a weak glove hand... it makes sense that more goals would be scored on him that way since players know he's a butterfly and shoot there. But look at shootouts and he still makes those saves. But definitely look at some vids on youtube of him playing in Sweden. That link is a pretty decent one but its just a mix of a bunch of saves.

And yeah Fleury has some offense. Lundqvist has... himself really. Not to mention all the pucks that went off his own guys. I think I counted and in the playoffs alone that number hit the double digits. More than half the devils goals were off rangers. If he can see the puck he will stop it.

    To the comment below...

And Lundqvist won't get any better? This was the first year he actually had something resembling a defense but then the offense never showed up.

  18. i like fleury 2 he is better all around in my opinion die hard to fan

  19. both guys are streaky, both have weakness (Fleury at times gives up soft goals and Lundqvist got a weak glove side or so i am told) both are young goaltenders with protentials. at the end of the day, i pick Henrik over Marc just because A- he was nominated Vezina finalists 3 years in a row. B- Fleury have more teammates to support him while Lundqvist so many times carried team on his back.

  20. well king henrik of course, once he gets offensive support, fleury will be better in a few years once he stops sitting on rolling pucks
