  1. Armstrong would never let Floyd play.  He would dictate the pase and tempo of the fight from the start.  Some tend to think that NO comtemporary fighter has a shot against the old legends.  Some of those old fighters wouldn't stand up to the more talented fighters of today.   Armstrong would.

No one has been able to penetrate Floyd's defense enough to make a difference in a fight.   ITs really not that hard but he gets inside his opponent's head and they want to take HIS head off by the time the bell sounds.   Floyd is the goods but EVERY style can be beaten.  Its just a matter of finding one who can do it.   In some eras the fighter just doesn't exist.

I can tell you how to beat Marciano.  There was just never anyone DURING HIS TIME who could do it.   I can tell you how to beat Prime Tyson,  or even ALi.   FINDING someone who can do it is a much different story.

Floyd would hit Henry often but not faze him much.   Eventually Henry would pick a corner and that is where Floyd would spend much of the fight.  The shoulder roll and other defensive maneuvers that Floyd uses so well today would not be of much use to Henry beause he throws SO MANY punches,  from SO MANY angles, to SO MANY parts of the BODY and HEAD.

Floyd would fight back.  He's pretty brave and confident.  Still he would learn that he can't hurt Henry.  Floyd is also very smart so he knows how to minimize what an opponent can do to him.  He can also box well enough to score his own points.

It would not be enough.   I know how to beat Henry Armstrong too.  Now,  FIND someone in the 147 division to do it.  THAT is a very tall order in and of itself.   Leonard can't do it.  Duran cant do it.  Floyd can't do it.  It would take a brutal puncher,  one with speed,  accuracy and the ability to buy enough room to execute the power OFTEN ENOUGH.    He must also be able to change the fight with ONE PUNCH.  He must also minimize the amount of damage Henry could inflict.

Tommy Hearns comes to mind.  He has the speed and could create the leverage to get Henry first.   Its easier said than done because if Tommy doesnt take Henry out early he won't do it at all.  Floyd would fail to do it.    HE would spend the rest of the fight in whichever corner Armstrong puts him in.

Floyd is smart enough to survive.  Not TOUGH enough to win.

Armstrong by clear decision or TKO in 14

  2. ACEMAN, I was thinking about asking this question earlier today and glad you did instead.  This would have been a brilliant fight.  Armstrong was a nonstop punching machine thus the nickname :Homicide Hank"  He was a knockout artist with a knockout punch and a killer instinct in the ring.  He came after you and didn't give you a chance to rest and could also take a punch very well as he was tough as nails too.  Floyd Mayweather Jr is a very talented, skilled, defensive oriented, and fast fighter.  Armstrong fought the tougher competition in his career and would have the right style to defeat Mayweather in my opinion.  I rank Armstrong #2 P4P fighter of all time behind Sugar Ray Robinson.  The pace of this fight would be amazing with Armstrong coming right after Mayweather and forcing him to fight by imposing his great will and relentless pressure.  Mayweather would also land some very good punches and would be able to box effectively especially early in the fight.  Armstrong would just keep coming and eventually wear down the speedy Mayweather.  The fight would be very close possibly even on the judges scorecards.  In the championship rounds, Armstrong would pour it on and come close to stopping Mayweather who would be hanging on for dear life.  At the end of the fight, Mayweathe would acknowledge Armstrong for the great fighter he is as the decision is announced.  Armstrong by unanimous decision.  Great question sir.

  3. Armstrong could line up the whole Mayweather clan and knock them out one by one, and be done before 15 rounds.

  4. This is a no brainier Mayweather is the man right now until someone beat him then others will beat him Henry Armstrong is the only fighter to hold three world titles in three different weight classes he would have two world title matches in two weeks not one every six months there are a lot of people that could have beaten Floyd Mayweather just to name a few Sugar Ray Leonard Aaron Pryor Thomas Hearns Robert Duran AND THE LIST GOES ON and on Henry would have destroyed Mayweather if Mayweather try ed to fight back Mayweather has a lot of skills and I,m not taking anything away from him but he is not that good. aRMSTRONG BY KNOCK OUT IN THE 12TH ROUND

  5. This fight will never happen even if we assume that they were fighting in the same time frame. Because Floyd wouldn't take this fight. You are underestimate Floyd intelligent, he won't step into the ring with someone who could wipe the floor with him.

  6. Armstrong's non stop action and accurate punching is too much for Mayweather.  Armstrong by decision.

  7. I agree with the logic....Maywether is tops today, but Armstrong was nonstop and affective. Would decision or tko Mayweather late and still have enough left to do it in the15 if necessary.
