New Swansea City player, Pablo Hernandez, has revealed that he spurned proposals from different clubs before signing for the Welsh outfit, and was looking forward towards making an impression this season.
The Spanish International put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Swans in the closing stages of the transfer window. His transfer has reported to have cost the Welsh club an estimated transfer fee of 5.5 million pounds.
His signature has been seen my many as Michael Laudrup’s move to replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scott-Sinclair-c32675, who decamped from the Liberty Stadium to join Manchester City this summer.
Swansea are reported to have filed the midfielder’s paperwork with Football Association and FIFA, and now await clearance from the governing body of word football.
Speaking of his switch from La Liga to EPL, the Spaniard unravelled his excitement on getting the opportunity to work alongside the Danish legend, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup. He also said that he watched Swansea’s game against West Ham United last week – which they
won 3-0 – and was thoroughly impressed with their playing style.
“It was my target as soon as I knew there was interest. There were offers from other clubs, but this was the only club I wanted to join,” he told the reporters.
“Swansea is a very important football club and will only keep getting better. They were a good side last year and look even better so far this season.”
Earlier, Hernandez also worked under Laudrup’s management at Getafe, and the prospect of rejoining the Dane in the EPL is believed to be the prime reason behind his switch.
The notion was confirmed by the 27-year old, who described Laudrup as his childhood hero. He claimed that the Dane had helped him flourish as a player at Getafe, and he now wants to help him ‘in return’.
“Michael was my idol when I was young… He gave me confidence and I have a lot to thank him for. Now I want to help him at Swansea in return, because he was very important for my career.”
The Spaniard will miss out the Swans next league game against Sunderland on Saturday, as his transfer is yet be cleared by FIFA.
