Can I use a hexeditine mouthwash for everyday use instead of a regular mouthwash?

My dentist prescribed me Oraldene a few months ago when I had gum problems and I was wondering if I could use it now daily even though I don't have any problems?

Hi! i would suggest you use it as and when you need it, Hexetidine mouthwashes are great for treating gum problems but prolonged everyday use can cause discolouration of the teeth.

Stop using it for 2 weeks and then start using it again for two weeks (2 weeks on 2 weeks off) this should give your teeth a bit of a break.

When you are not using the hexetidine mouthwash floss twice daily, brush 2-3 times a day and use a normal mouthwash in between brushes.
