Hey!! My son might start crawling?!?

Question

Well this is exciting :)

My son who is 5 months no has started getting himself up on his knees and hands..at the same time! LOL

And his stomach his completely off the bed/floor, and last night he was rocking..but very fast, like it looked like he was going to catapult himself somewhere LOL it was so funny!

And for the question, I have read on here many of you say if the baby is rocking, crawling may be near...how soon after YOUR baby started rocking did then learn how to crawl?

Well my cute little chunky 5mos. old daughter isn't really into crawling.... but since we're sharing, she does hold her own bottle, roll over and bring her self upwards into a sitting position from laying down on her back. It's quite remarkable to watch! She just pulls herself up with 1 single motion and a cute little grunt. And she can balance and hold herself upright throughout her own wigglying and getting all "happy baby" So cuuuuuute! And congratulations to you and your baby on your milestones!

After she started rocking it took about two weeks before she started crawling...backwards! And another week after that before she got the forward trajectory down. Sounds like he is on his way! Have fun!!

It took about 3 weeks I would guess.  She started getting around the room by doing that even before she started crawling.  Congratulations!  You have so much fun ahead of you!

My son was crawling about 2 weeks after he started doing this. He had the leg part down he would kind of crawl in place and then he finally got he needed to move his arms also.

My daughter did it within 2 weeks after rocking.  She first learned how to sit herself back up once in the kneeling position.  And then she stalled for a bit because she figured out, "Hey I can get places with a commando craw"...so she just dragged her legs around while pulling with her arms.  This eventually got frustrating for her...so then one day she just took off and hasn't stopped since.

my son started rocking like this around 5 months as well and he JUST started crawling (he is now 7.5 months)!

i kept thinking he was going to crawl any day....then 2 months went by!

but maybe yours will crawl sooner...

I started to ask this very same q yesterday but didn't..My son is doing the same thing.I gave you a star because I want to see what answers you get.:) It is fun watching them try to figure it out,isn't it?..

My son did the army crawl for a while before he would get up on all fours and start rocking. But, once he started to rock it was only a week or two before he took off, and he hasn't stopped since. Isn't it exciting to watch them learn something new?

Oh... congrats. What a fun milestone. Ive read it should be soon after that. But, I couldnt tell you :(  My baby wont even try to get up on his knees.

Very, very soon. Wow your baby is a fast learner. I'd say within the next couple of weeks. He may go backwards first though. Many do! LOL.

my son started doning this at about 5months 1week, hes now 6months 1week and has scooted forward in this position but still has not crawled:(... although yesterday he pulled himself up to a standing position from sitting...
