Ok well.... my friend Avonlea wants to get a puppy. Her dad agreed but she can't decide on what kind to get I'm asking this because she is over my house right now. We discussed a couple of dog breeds (such as a chihuahua, beagle, dachshund, jack russell terrier and Min Pin) She's only allowed to get a small dog (like me) But this is what she and I said when we discussed these ones Chihuahua- Too Expensive and Small (someone might step on it), Beagle(too much scence of smell lol) Dachshund (her dad doesn't like them) Jack Russell (Too Hyper) Min Pin (Too Expensive for a good one) Well do you guys have any other suggestions for her? Thanks a ton!

  1. Chis and minpins don't have to be expensive. Why doesn't your friend look into a rescue? These are popular dogs and they may have puppies available. But every dog breed has its quirks. Beagles do a lot of sniffing, but they're the ultimate family pet. And JRT are hyper, but they're great dogs for people willing to work with them. But there are many, many other dog breeds out there. Most terrier breeds are small dogs. And don't rule out the mutts! The perfect dog may not have a specific breed, but they're not expensive and are one of a kind!

  2. I don't like what you think of these dogs.Yes some chihuahuas are expensive and some are very small but some also very large. And no one can step on a dog.A beagle doesn't smell bad!And all dogs are hyper. And now you are saying that all the min pins aren't good ones to buy. It's a little rude.I don't know why anyone wants to see if this one is cute or this one is not.I am the same way.But I wouldn't really care what kind of small dog it is unless I get it since it was a baby.

  3. i have 3 cockaliers, part cocker spaniel part cavalier.  they are mixed with cavalier because they are very quiet sweet lap dogs. very obiedent, and playful.  they look just like the dog from lady and the tramp absolutley beautiful. i know where you can get them if you want one, if interested i can email you pictures

  4. There are hundreds of small dogs.

Here is a list, in alphabetical order, with images and breed information of small dogs:

Remind her to look at shelters FIRST, then BREED RESCUES. Make sure she knows to NEVER EVER buy from a pet shop, and if they are looking at breeders, make sure the dogs have all been tested and certified, make sure the parents are champion quality and that there is proof of this. NEVER buy from a suspected back yard breeder or puppy mill.

  5. How about a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel? Or a Shih tzu? They are both great breeds! Hope this helps! : )

  6. Get a Yorkie but it will need some grooming, a lot of grooming, or mabye a mini poodle but that also needs grooming and and tell your dad that you need a daschund they're awesome I've got four!

Pickle, Charlie (Charlie is a girl), Frodo, and Samantha, those are my mini daschunds

  7. My wife has a Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix.  She's great, she's a little bigger than a normal chihuahua but with longer hair.  She only barks at the doorbell or when someone knocks.  She is very loving and clean.  We live in Texas so we usually have her shaved in the summer but her hair grows out pretty fast for winter.  All in All Great dog.

  8. a pug, maltese, or s**+ zu

  9. How about going to a shelter and taking a look at the puppies there?
