much publicised spat between Heynckes and Sammer is now over during a meeting conducted in midweek.
Matthias criticised the Bundesliga outfit after they were less convincing in their 2-0 triumph against Werder Bremen, where the team scored two late goals to secure all three points. Heynckes did not approve of this and expressed
discontent by claiming that the matter should not have been disclosed publicly.
However, Rummenigge tried to make things better among the club members by arranging a small meeting between the two personnel on Tuesday. He conceded that they had a very nice and open chat, and is confident that the issue has
been completely out of the air now.
"We had a very good, very open and very honest conversation," he was quoted as saying in an interview.
As a result, he urged the press to stop bringing up the matter and said everything is fine. He insisted that it is vital to work in a professional manner and to give the other person his due respect.
"I am convinced the matter has been resolved and the media would be well advised to cease bringing up this feud. As far as we are concerned, it is not an issue internally,” he added.
"It is important that both work harmoniously and trust each other, I have the impression that this is the case after this conversation,” he mused.
"We can now bury the matter," he finally concluded.
Therefore, the chairman maintained that the media can dig up other agendas for now.
