High-school question?

Question

-I have heard many ridiculous stories about freshman getting beaten or tormented on the first day and first week.

-So I'm just wondering, have you or anyone else you know have had experience or heard stories relating to this topic?

ITS ALL LIES, i survived freshman year, and i was the somewhat most hated student, everyone hated me, but nothing bad happened, just make sure you dont do these:

- be a wannabee racer in front of the car owners

- dont go towards the people wearing blue OR red.

- dont hate

- ect ect

People are trying to scare you. I guess if you live in like a big city and there are a lot of problems..then it may happen. But generally high school is no big deal. Just calm down trust me. I'm going to be a senior this year and all the years i've been in high school i've never picked on, been picked on, or seen anyone get picked on too much. Of course there is the normal high school drama that people deal with but you also get that in middle school. Just avoid it...not hard at all. Most people have lives and don't waste it tormenting other kids. Your worst fear I'd say is getting lost and not finding your classes...which ISNT a big deal. Everyone has done it. And they are way flexible about it the first week of school because they understand. The whole "freshman/fresh meat" thing is completely exaggerated. Good luck and hope it's great for you. You will have a blast in high school i promise. Best years of your life...that's not just a cliche =)

Freshman are the babies.  In truth, people just walk by them.  They're no different.  They just have less work.

Nothing that bad really happens. At my school they have "freshman friday." Which is the first friday of the first week. But it isn't really that bad. Some seniors will try to dump water from the second story on to the kids below. But they can't even really tell if you are a fresman or not. (haa) I am a freshman this year and I learned about this from my sister who is a senior. I am not worried either. You might get made fun of if like you carry a map around with you or something. But it shouldn't be bad.

i've never seen or heard anything happening at my high school to freshman. i think the tv and movies make freshman year of high school seem like h**l. kids getting wedgies, thrown in trash cans, stuffed in lockers, ect. not true. i mean at my high school though we have this thing called icebreaker week where we have an assembly where everyone sits in the bleachers, freshman together, sophomores together, and juniors together. then the seniors come out with waterguns, toilet paper, eggs, silly string, ect. and just trash everyone, not just freshman. its actually pretty funny. but nothing really happens to freshman, well not these days anymore hah,

in the school im going to it does happen every year. But i can already tell theres gonna be alot of fights cuz me and my friends dont take that from anybody, instead of fighting im gonna try to make friends with the upperclassmen, not all of them obviously but the ones that useto go to my school b4.

that's just to scare freshmen, i mean maybe where you go to school it's true, but it's usually not.

upperclass men may make fun of you and stuff but not actually hurt you.

Last year I was a freshman. The Sophomores pointed us out, the Juniors sat back and laughed, and the Seniors:

- Saran wrapped all the freshmen together

- Sprayed silly string all over us, while we were still Saran wrapped

- Made all of 'us' take off our shoes and then threw them everywhere!

- Made us run around

- TRIED to make us play duck duck goose, but the bell saved us

So yeah; it happens. They can't really beat you though. Oh, but they may try to pants you, as well as throw you in the trash can. It's all part of the fun though. After all, IF your school even allows it, you will get to do the same thing to Freshmen whenever you're a Senior. Play along; it's all fun and games. And be prepared to hear "Stupid Freshman" a lot in the next 8 months or so.

Not beaten, when I was a freshman, 4 yrs ago...we each got covered in toilet paper and had to sit on our but and scoot across the gym floor singing row row row your boat in front of the rest of the school...it sucked but it was fun

haha that doesn't really happen. they did it in my school but only to the boys when they were in the locker room but it was a playful thing.

my sister said when she was in school (either middle or high school, i forgot) they had something [forgot what it was called] every friday where the girls would have to walk around with their arms crossed over their chest and if the guys caught them with their hands not over their chest then they would punch them in their chest really hard. the teachers took a long time to stop that. it seems dumb and painful lol

1st. No one will know you are a freshman when you are walking with students that are in 4 different grades. If they know (If you ask a question about the school) they will only tell you jokes such as there is a third floor or a second floor on the school.

Is just like when you are an 8th grader and you see a 7th grader.

It doesn't happen. People just say things to scare you or to make them-selves seem big. Don't worry about it! High school is a cake walk it's way over rated!!!

during my freshman year some of them got stuffed into garbage cans or had their head stuffed in the toilet but no beatings
