High school teen study abroad programs?

Hey, I hear that colleges consider study abroad programs for high schools students a HUGE boost, my summer is booked this year (doing a lot of things for college, I am doing accelerated courses, getting a job, and volunteering at a local university medical center). I will also try to get a job as a caddy next year but that starts really early in the year and will still be able to study abroad. Anyway, I was just curious if anybody knew ANYTHING about this abroad stuff. Do you even study? Or do you just help out, or what?

YFU. youth for understanding. THey have TONS of scholarships. And when i last checked they had more scholarships and applicants. They were giving them away to people they didnt want to because they had to give them away. i went to japan for 6 weeks. i did not speak a word of japanese.  i went to high school. i helped in english classes. i went to the other classes but as i did not speak japanese i sat in the back and taught myself the alphabet. I went to shodo class and PE a lot.
