Hindu wedding wish?

I'm sending a wedding card to a friend who is having a Hindu wedding (his fiancee is Indian). How would you wish a newlywed couple well in Hindu? Is there a simple 'congratulations' or other saying i can write into the card? I'd really like to make it personal this way.

Well you are confused betwen Hindu and Hindi :)

Hindu is a religion in India and Hindi is a language. They are not the same. there are lots of HINDU people who speak languages other than HINDI, and a lot of HINDI speaking people of other religions like muslims, sikh etc.

Anyway,

the simplest wedding wish in HINDI could be,

Priy --- aur --- (  Dear --- and --- )

Shadi Mubarak!

This is the most commonly used expression, and a warm way of greeting, that means "congratulations and best wishes on your wedding".

OR

Priy --- aur ---

Aap dono ko vivaah ke avasar ki badhaayiaan!

Aap dono ko - to you both

Vivaah - wedding

Avsar par - on the occasion of

badhaayiaan - warm wishes
