Historic Preservation in Scotland Thesis

I need a thesis on the preservation of the scottish built environment- something I can stretch into 10-20 pages-

Ideas?

Why not visit the Historic Scotland website?  They are the government agency charged with protecting Scotland's ancient monuments (like Edinburgh Castle etc).  I'm sure you'll get some ideas from there.

I suppose you can focus on the building of infrastructure like roads that might destroy historical sites. In Ireland we have huge problems with that. You might be able to extend that a bit.

Government funding / private sponsorship for preservation - inadequate?

Local community help - historical societies and how they like to help to preserve historical monuments. Focus on one specific example would really strech out the thesis.

Of course, if all else fails, you can talk about hooliganism and why they like to graffiti on historical monuments and what the police response is to save the artifacts.
