Hitler and McCain? ?

I asked this under the wrong category before so I'll ask again and hope to get more responses. Why are people asking if this move by Madonna to compare McCain to Hitler was at all right, fair or reasonable? Then to compare Obama to Ghandi and John Lennon. It is tactless, but I want to know where all of these asking parties brains have gone? Hitler killed 12 million people, not necessarily personally but he led the movement of the HOLOCAUST. McCain has done nothing of the sort. Please be reasonable in your answers and also respectful on the topic of the holocaust.Thanks.

Well, I don't pay attention to anything Madonna says (or sings), and I didn't even know about her remarks until a few minutes ago when I saw a post where someone else mentioned it. That being said, though, I have to say that even though I'm certainly no McCain supporter, I think it's way off-base to compare him to the likes of Hitler.

Everyone knows, usa is doing same such thing to islamic contries and millions of people have died .The person responsible for this is Republicans .We cannot blame americans...Same thing...Hitler is like americans..Himmler and other jew haters are republicans..So, Mccain also supported this islamic destruction.....

Madonna's actions are uncalled for.  They don't help Obama, and they insult McCain and his followers.  Worst of all, as you said, they insult the memory of those who perished in Europe as a result of Hitler's regime.

I favor Obama, but I think Madonna's actions are despicable.  Obama has said that McCain has served his country honorably and heroically.  So, far from helping Obama, Madonna is calling him a liar.

Our country is honored to have two high caliber candidates competing for the presidency.

What you ask is simple to answer! The Liberals always lie or are ignorant of facts; especially Historical facts! Hitler was a borderline Communist.. he could be compared to Castro.. Hitler was a dictator as was Castro. Hitler was a Socialist and had invited the Communist Party in Germany to join him. The problem was that they felt he was mad and this got back to him! We all are right once in a great while, even Communists! Hitler, knowing they would therefore, be trouble, had them killed! It is a sad thing Liberals try to change the worlds historical facts to make others think they are the good guys! It is un-American to deny much of American History and the changing of our history books to support the Communist/Socialist ideals as a good thing! Obviously, the idea is to suggest that a Republic should not exist and this would mean the end of real Democracy because Democracy is destroyed by too much Socialism.. More facts from World History. Madonna has been such a source of these outrageous comparisons and outright smearing that it isn't a surprise to anyone anymore.  My question is why is she not doing that over here in the USA?  She rather feed the anti-american stereo-type of Europe then to come here and try that here because she knows she would have a riot of America lovers tear her a new one.  That Dixie Chick girl did the same d**n type thing again overseas not here.  American's love their country and we need to show these anti-america types the door by stopping buying of any and all their products.

This comparing less-than-savory public figures to Hitler has to stop.  But the one thing Madonna does best is generate controversy.  As much as I dislike McCain, I'm more likely to compare him to Bush than to anyone else.

Comparing Obama to Lennon or Gandhi is a compliment, as both men have largely positive reps.

McCain is not as bad as Hitler, but one thing that both Napoleon and Hitler did that led to their defeat might occur if McCain wins.

That would be expanding his 100-year war to include invading Russia.

Madonna is CRAZY. I don't like MCcain but I would never disgrace his name with that Psycho path Hitler. McCain is a war hero and deserves the respect that he earned. Madonna just needs to leave married men alone and sing her crazy *** songs.

And what do you call McCain's desire for a 100-year war? What do you call his intent and readiness to enter conflicts all over the world, to attack first and conduct diplomacy last?

It's not meant to be a stretch to compare him to the likes of Hitler. Obviously, McCain isn't anywhere near him in what he's committed. But McCain DOES favor the use of violence - outright - and he DOES believe in wars - that's war in the plural.

That's what his foreign policy is going to be based on. McCain has publicly admitted that issues like the economy and healthcare are not what he is competent at, nor what he truly cares about.

It's the military, it's war, it's the "enemies" he will urge to take out, and it's his fervent desire for more conflicts in addition to Iraq and Afghanistan.

EDIT: And I'm from NYC and lived there on the day of 9/11. What's your point there?

Also, wars are necessary, but using ONLY WAR is called being a war-mongerer and tyrant. War is sometimes necessary, but you don't go and PROVOKE THE CONFLICT, which is what McCain will surely do.

He'll "create" an enemy, largely the same way Bush painted Saddam as a tyrant with nuclear weapons at his disposal, which were never found.

McCain will falsify the pretense for wars, and that is what makes it awful.
