Hockey Wrist Shot?

I play roller hockey and I have one of the best wrist shots on my team (using a puck). Im playing ice hockey for the first time and ive been practicing with the ice hockey puck, but my wrist shot sucks. Its too slw and wobbly. How do I get a laser wrist shot??? Thanks in advance!!

  1. What kills transition players is that the inline pucks are so darn light.  When you move to an 8oz ice puck, your muscles aren't used to it, and your shot suffers.

    I would do 3 things:  This one's obvious, but shoot a zillion regular pucks, preferably on ice - the physics of the shot change a bit when you're not on ice.  Next, do all the forearm/bicep/chest and rotational exercises you can find.  This will help with the initial power you're missing.  Lastly, try a weighted ice puck.  These are shaped just like a normal ice puck, but they're colored (mine are orange) and incredibly heavy.  If you can shoot these suckers, you can blast a regular puck.  Good luck with it!
