Hockey stick length question...please help?

if you have a 6 flex stick, and u cut down like 4 inches from the top, will the flex increase significantly?

  1. the flex will increase. however taking 4 inches off the top might bring it to a 75 at the most. It wont significantly alter the flex. by taking off inches you give less of the shaft available to flex taking away it's consistency, therefore increasing the flex. however, by making the stick shorter it allows you to easier bend the stick so in your case it probably wont matter much. I wouldn't worry about it. Take a couple shots if it feels alright then you'll be set. It'll be hard to find a lower flex anyways.

  3. if you cut the stick down, the stick usually gets stiffer. if you go to a hockey shop and look at the top of the bauer sticks, they have a guidline to tell you how it will increase as you cut it shorter and shorter (87 flex bauer stick goes to 96 then to 102 i think).
