  1. hollweg is good for a bag a plastic pucks, i have never seen him win a fight, he has little skill, and he is a decent hitter

  2. It's tank time in Toronto. The Leafs are positioning themselves to win the John Tavares sweepstakes.

The scouting report is that Tavares would have been selected before Stamkos in June if he had just been a couple of days older. He's from Toronto (Mississauga) and played junior in Oshawa 10 miles away.

He'll be available next June. The fix is in.

  3. i never really liked hollweg. he only scored two goals i think last season. i know he isn't a goal scorer and he is supposed to be a fighter and everything but he isn't that great of a fighter and takes some horrible penalties. some of the things he did on the ice just didn't make any sense. he isn't a good skater and i personally don't think that he is a good hitter. he misses guys a lot. i think it was a fair trade because hollweg isn't that good and a fifth round pick is kinda equal

  4. I see he even scored twice last year. Three times if you count the one at home. I think a fifth round pick is a bit steep for an eighth rounder who isn't really living up to expectations, maybe a sack of flour and some canned goods would have been about right. What's Cliff doing? I though rebuilding teams needed those draft choices.

OK, fair trade but not a good deal for Toronto to do right now.

  5. Meh... while I bet Hollweg is a great guy and I'd love to go drinking with him, he doesn't belong in the NHL.  He has effort, which I really like, but he has little skill, he is an AWFUL skater, and he takes many bad penalties.  I think he was leading the Rangers in non-fighting 5 minute majors last season.

He won't be missed... the Rangers got more than he was worth.  Every time he stepped on the ice, I knew we were not going to be scoring.  I remember one of his goals being a tip-in on an AMAZING pass by jagr, wasn't the other an empty netter?

  6. For the Penguins very high draft pick yes. That is like the last draft pick of the pick. I like Holleweg, although he sucks. It is not bad nor good for the Leafs.
