The German International signed a four year deal with the Bundesliga outfit in the summer of 2009, tying him up with the club till June 2013. Whether or not the Scott will be able to pull out Holtby from his current contract with Schalke will heavily rely on how Moyes handles his summer transfer activities. Currently, Everton are in a financial quagmire and will look to sell-out some of their
players in order to facilitate the arrival of new players.
Nevertheless, Holtby made public his liking for the Premier League and expressed his yearning to represent the Toffees at some point in future.
While talking to reporters, he said: “I have always said that my aim is to come to the Premier League one day because I love the league.”
