  1. dolby and dts is better than stereo, (if you want true suround sound) but between the 2 it is all personal preference

  2. Depends on what you have and what your source is for best sound.

Assuming your have five speakers and subwoofer, Dolby Digital receiver, and a DVD player, and a TV.

Your best audio setting would be Dolby Digital for playing DVDs , then DTS.

For VHS, Cd's, and standard TV then your best setting is Dolby Pro Logic ll, then stereo.

  3. You cannot set the sound on your receiver to Dolby Digital or DTS....this can only be chosen from a DVD's language/audio setup menu and will then be shown on your receiver's front display. If you are listening to a 2-channel source such as music or tv then I would recommend Pro Logic II or stereo....switch between the two and see which one you like better.....surround vs stereo is a personal preference so only your ears will be able to decide for you.

  4. I wold go with the DTS but you need a reserve that is compatible with DTS

Here check out the DTS websight for more info

  5. You should have it on auto - the receiver should sense the type of signal it gets.

  6. what ever your movie recommends on the back of you dvd but Dolby Digital is better than the ones you have listed
