Home and Fence Length

Question

I am currently renting a home in Los Angeles county and I want to know what is the legal length between a window and a fence. My window opens up to a brick wall and it doesn't seem healthy. I just need an answer so I can tell the landlord.

California Building code has no distance requirement from a window to any structure.  The only restriction I can think of if the fence is on a property line, and if there is an easement on that property line then no structure (or window) Could be built permanently in that easement.  That is not very likely.
