Homemade Baileys?

I have a receipe for Baileys. One of the ingredients is 5 TBSP of coffee (disolved in 1 cup water overnight). The problem, was the coffe did not desolve enough and the Baileys (which turned out great), had to be strained and was a huge mess. Any suggestions on how much instant, etc. one would use?

  1. You let the coffee dissolve over night and add the liquid to the mix.  Not the remaining coffee mix.

Strain the remaining coffee mix out before adding the coffee to the baileys mix.

  2. I don't put my coffee into hot water for Bailey's.

If you whip your coffee with your cream first, it will be fine.

Instant is far better than granulated, and use the same amount.

    Good luck.

  3. did you try boiling the water first before adding the coffee?

i knew someone who used to make home made bailey's

it was delicious, but never had a coffee flavor to it   with the bourbon in it, it did have a tendency to curl your toes and make you have to wear "elf shoes"   :)
