  1. just get one of your friends to take you to prom and stuff

  2. Consider having a homeschool prom.. we have one in our town for all high school students and they have a great time.   Have your public school friends help plan your graduation..  you can do the cap and gown etc.  They can even wear their caps to your ceremony.

I promise these little things will be minor as you get older.  Don't confuse education with social activities. You are talking about a couple of hours of activities vs a year of academics.   it also may be more complicated heading back to school in your senior year than you think.. they may require extra classes for you to graduate (night school, anyone?) What if they don't accept all your credits?  Take a reality check.  You might want to get all the details or what you might need to do first and not let your emotions get the better of you.

  3. Some schools will allow you to participate in certain activities (like proms/dances) when you are home schooled so check out that option. If not, just talk with your mom, I am sure she will understand, just make sure you convey how appreciative you are of everything she has done for you.

  4. Don't go back purly for prom... you can probably go to prom anyway (on a date or as a guest)

  5. sup im only in 7th grade but its fun to have friends around and go do stuff together like me and my friends go and play b-ball all the time. we go to the dances to which is fun.If it was up to me i would go back to school would be much funner good luck with decision if need more help just im me

  6. Going back for a PRom is kind of well silly.

The real question is how are you doing academically.

Can you handle the last year or are you MORE ADVANCED than they are!

Will the school let you into AP classes or will they put you in baby classes.

How will you do if they decide to Test You with a Regents or Stanford test before placing you.

You have to face the relaities of high school and taht most girls and guys are already paired up.

Of course you have to face some of these realities already.

You have to be COLLEGE READY if you are expecting to go to college

You have to be SAT, ACT and College Entrance Exam ready.

    Are you.

The question that you should be asking is will you EXCELL Academically or fall on your face ACADEMICALLY by this move.

You ready for Math Chemistry or Physics

    Civics

    Statistics

    Economics

    Pre Calculuas or Math Analsysis.

  7. You really have to weigh what you want to accomplish and discuss it with your parents. No one here on a forum can make that decision for you.

That being said, this is my opinion for what it is worth to you.

Do you want a great education, free from the peer pressure and daily drama that comes with public school? Do you want to possibly get a jump on college and great LIFE experiences (you cant possibly get the real world locked in the institution of public school for 8 plus hours a day)? Are only worried about the social aspects of school, because that can be worked around.

My daughter will be dual enrolled at a college next year and will graduate high school  with her AA degree. Have you checked into that? She also takes 3 classes at the High school for Anatomy, Spanish and a writing class. She participates in sports there and clubs.  I guess you can say she experiences a little of both worlds, but maintains her freedom and more free time. She goes in and sees her friends but doesn't get caught up in the "drama"  she tells me about daily.

    Good luck whatever you decide.

  8. def. go back!!

it will be great for you to be with old friends

i think home schooling is a bad idea as it cuts people off and doesn't give you experience in social situations

  9. I think at age 17 you should be able to decide for yourself what you want to do in this situation.

I was home schooled and then sent to private school for junior high and then to public school for high school.

If I had to choose my favorite I would say Public School for many reasons. I think you learn more valuable information about life that you will actually use in the future in public school.

Best of Luck in whatever you decide.
