  1. I home schooled my entire life until college.  I absolutely Loved it!  I got to focus on things I was interested in and got to experience a lot of things I wouldn't have been able to had I been in school.  It's a great option, I would recommend it.

  2. yes, i really like it. i have been homeschooled all my life and its cool.

  3. I was not homeschooled.  However, I have a couple friends who were, our neighbor is, and a close relative is homeschooling her son....  That being said, I am not a supporter of homeschooling.  In all the cases I have had personal contact with the children are lacking something.  Our neighbor is very socially inept.  He has no idea how to interact with people or multiple types of situations.  It is beyond shyness.  One particular friend of mine who was homeschooled lacks greatly when it comes to academics.  Now he has children of his own, and can't help his elementary aged kids with their homework because he doesn't understand it.  My relative has a son who should be in 4th grade and reads at a beginning first grade level, can't comprehend what is read, cannot add double digits, doesn't understand multiplication or division, and hasn't even started working with fractions.  She also doesn't provide any science or history curriculum to him.  Reading and writing isn't enough and she doesn't understand that.  Schools hire teachers who are educated and certified for a reason.  Not everyone is cut out to teach, but, just anyone with a less than education is allowed to homeschool and I don't agree with that.

  4. I'm homeschooled and thankfully I am going to school next year but I absoulutey HATE it!! Maybe its because I like to get out and do stuff.... But when your homeschooled you dont get to go out with your friends because you dont have any, you dont have any after school activities and you just stay home all day being bored!! I ABSOULUTLEY HATE BEING HOMESCHOOLED!!! Don't be homeschooled... well u can if u dont want any friends...

  5. I'm homeschooled, and I love it. It is so much better than the constraining, creativity-limiting, ridiculing, low-standards, ANTIsocial environment of public school (and yes, I've been there too for many years.)

A co-op is basically like a group of homeschoolers who get together for activities, field trips, and group classes. The parents usually volunteer to teach small groups of other homeschoolers a specific subject.

  6. I have been homeschooled all my life. Never have I attended a day in a public school while school is active. Because I have never been to public school I cannot compare that much except from what stories other people have told me, etc. What I do know is that being homeschooled has allowed me to enjoy getting my education. Almost everyday I enjoy learning something new, finding something of great interest to me in my studies. Homeschooling has made my education experience a learning experience. It has made it an exciting experience. An experience that I hope will never end.

  7. Yes...I'm 15 and home-educated. I love it. I would never swap it for anything but especially not for going to school - tried that once, it was the biggest let-down imaginable. When I have kids, I'm going to home educate them. When I have grand-kids, I'll encourage their parents to home-educate them too, lol!

Being educated at home means I get to set the toughest standards for myself...and push myself hard until I achieve them; I get to grow up in the society that I will spend the rest of my life living in; I get to concentrate on learning the things that will be important to *MY* future...and can simply ignore the things that are not helpful or relevant to me; it means I get to grow up alongside my brothers and sisters; it means I get to stay at home and don't have to go away to boarding school for 9 months a year; it means I don't grow up in an alien culture; it means I get the most rigorous of educations.

Oh and yep, I do have friends, a social life, a job, play sports, go to dances, rodeos, parties, camps, rages etc etc.

I don't buy into that "I'm homeschooled and I've got no friends/no life" nonsense. Being home-educated is as good or as bad an experience as the kid, themselves, makes it! It's up to you, as a homeschooler, to get off your bum and get out there and find some friends/a social life for yourself!

  8. Yes I am home schooled and I love it. I still have lots of friends but I do not have to be around kids my age all day so I can stay more focused on school. I do not get teased or have to worry about staying in style.

  9. I AM I LOVE CUZ IM GRADUATING EARLIER

  10. My daughter is homeschooled and loves it. There are too many reasons to count. She has more time with friends, can study subjects she is interested in, works at her own pace, and eats home cooked meals for breakfast and lunch.

Co-op means cooperative. It is when parents volunteer as teachers in different subjects to lighten the work load and better focus on the subject.

EDIT: How do the song lyrics go? "If your bored, then you're boring". This is true in life and in homeschool. Your social life is entirely what you make it.
