Homeschooler?

Question

Hi, I am a homeschooler, as of a couple months ago,

and I don't have like... any friends.

I was wondering if anypne on here was homeschooled, and if they know of any cool things for homeschoolers, like travelling or trips, or conventions, or something, or just things to do, or any way to meet new people?

Yeah. I'm homeschooled and I don't have many friends either. I have my 2 cousins and my next door neighbor. You get used to it.

I bet that's tough, but if you hang in there, you will get over the hump.  Give yourself some time to adjust to homeschooling and get plugged into a support group and everything will be fine.

Other than that, think of things you are interested in.  What are your hobbies?  What do you like to do?  See if you can find a way to volunteer or even find a part-time job that relates to your interests.

You can keep your public school friends.  I encouraged my son to keep his but it dwindled down to just one that he keeps in touch with now.  You must get out in the world, join 4-H (the coolest), scouts, local homeschool groups, volunteer at the library, take co op classes, homeschool field trips (check local museums for homeschool days) etc.  If you look online you will find some answers, homeschoolers know how to network!  A good place to start is on Yahoo in the groups section.  There is more than likely a homeschool group meeting in your area, somewhere. Besides, it's better to have a couple of really good close friends than a plethora of acquaintances.

There should be some local homeschool groups in your area. THey are the BEST!!  We do all kinds of stuff all the time! Go here and look for your state and see if there are groups in your area

Depending on your age you should be able to find various activities.

Boys and Girls Club

Homeschool Co-ops

Church Youth Groups

Sports teams

Community center classes

Part time work

Also, if you have only been homeschooled a couple of months, where are the friends you had before?  Can't you still hang out with them after school and on weekends?

Hi, I am a homeschooling mom. I just started homeschooling my two children this school year and so far we haven't had the opportunity to make friends, so I know what it's like.  What state or country do you live in? Perhaps I could offer some suggestions.
