Homeschooling programs.?

I'm currently homeschooled right now, but recently found out due to certain legal reasons, I have to be in an accredited program.

I live in Illinois and I need some cheap accredited programs.

anyone have any?

I already tried googling it--some programs came up but they were over one thousand dollars and over to enroll!

WHO THE F CAN AFFORD THAT?!?!? not me...

so, can anyone PLEASE help me with an accredited homeschooled program. (by the way, its ok if it has some religion, but not where every subject has god in it.)

Thanks!

  3. I'ma homeschooling mom in Illinois and there is NO need for an accredited program.

What are the "certain legal reasons"???  If you're trying to get into college, you don't need an accredited program for that, either.

Anyway, if you can't tell us, then look into doing the Illinois Virtual High School.  Enrollment is closed for this semester, however, and to enroll you have to go through your local school district.  It's a public, online high school.

Sorry to say, but all the other online high school  (if that's what you need - you didn't say what grade you're in) are going to start at about $350/course/semester.  If you can't afford it (and please watch your language here), then you're pretty much out of luck.  Again, I can't see any reason why you need an accredited program.

While HS'ing curriculums can be accredited, that basically means squat.  Schools are accredited.  To satisfy whatever legal thing you're talking about, perhaps an accredited curriculum will be fine.  The one I use, K12, has been accredited, but only its schools:

There is only one K12 virtual school in IL and it's in Chicago.  You have to be a resident of the Chicago school district.

  4. Who told you that you needed an accredited program?  I checked your state's laws at hslda and Illinois has minimal requirements.

I think you need to verify the information you've been given to make sure it's accurate.

Here are lists of online and textbook programs that you can check to see if they are within your budget and accredited:

Here are some tips for saving money on curriculum.  It also lists some places you can find used curriculum:
