Homeschooling!?

Question

So Im really sick im a junior in high School in NY. I hae enough credits to graduate the school will be hopefully giving me home schooling at home. Does anyone know anyhting about public home schooling?

How many hours will the teacher be in my house?

Will they bring books?

Will they test me?

Where will i take regents?

You ask excellent questions!  If you want to homeschool through your district, you will need to contact them for the answers to most of your questions.

I do know that if you homeschool through your district you will take your Regent Exams at the same time and place as your schooled peers.  If you do not go through your district, you will take them at the time and place other private school students go.

PE can be any physical activity that you enjoy, as long as it takes place for the number of hours your district requires.  We do Tae Kwan Do.

If you are taking about county provided homeschooling for kids who can not make it to school for various reasons, I know about it. I had home bound teaching for 2 years. In my state you can only do your 4 core classes at home. I had 3 different teachers. One that did english and history, one that did math, and one that did science. I had about 2-3 hours with each teacher twice a week. The teacher will most likely build a schedule around times that work for you and for them. They are usually flexible with you if you are actually trying to get your work done. I had most of my text books at home with me but the teachers would go to my school pick up work and then drop it off when I was finished with it. They tested me, they just brought the test, watched me take it and then dropped it off at my school for it to be graded. For standardized tests it depends on school policy, I was able to take mine at home, but you may have to go into the school.
