Honeymoon in Chicago: Hotel question?

Question

My fiance and I will be honeymooning in Chicago in December and we're trying to decide on a hotel.

Here are some of the things we would like to have (in an ideal situation):

~walking distance to shopping on Michigan Avenue

~separate shower and bath (ideally an oversized bath)

~good service

~quiet rooms

Here is a list of some of the hotels we're considering:

Fairmont

Wyndham

Westin

Swissotel

Intercontinental

Have you had experience with any of these hotels? Which would you suggest? Or do you have a better suggestion that I haven't listed?

Also, we will be there the week of Christmas...are there any Christmas events in Chicago?

i stayed at the hotel intercontinental and absolutely loved it. it has everything you want except separate bath and shower. i was in a large suite and only had a shower. however, there is the pool and everything. see if you can request a room with a tub? it was really a lovely experience. for christmas stuff, go to the zoo. it's really cute. people carol to the animals and there are lights up everywhere. very pretty. you HAVE to go to the Macy's downtown and eat in the walnut room. it's a total chicago tradition and everyone here does it. long lines, but get a beeper and walk around the area while you wait for it to buzz. it's totally worth it. there is also a little german market or something that i heard is really fun. there is a toboggan hill on devon (or somewhere close by) that is really fun. spas and shopping are always good choices too. have fun!

Stayed at Swissotel.  Very nice but I don't remember a separate shower and bath.
