  1. When I went to Europe the first time I was advised to take a tour to several cities.  It was the most intelligent thing to do. Now we plan new vacations staying more on the places we liked and don't going to the ones we didn't like.  Book with a nice travel agency and I recommend to go to Spain, Italy and France.  Those places are beautiful.  Also one of the advantages on booking a tour is that all your transportation needs, tickets for shows or museums and hotel reservations are taken care of and it is a worry free trip. You are not obligated to participate on all the tours they offer.  Believe me that also is the most intelligent thing to do since tourists don't know which places are good and which are dangerous so they tell you this too and nice places to eat etc.

  2. Hi,

I'm a big fan of Ireland.

    Good luck.

  3. Because you'd be going for your honeymoon, I suggest one of the most romantic places I've ever been to: Italy. I'd start off in Venice. There are several islands off of the main island (Burano: famous for their lace; Murano: famouse for their blown glass; Lido: well, it's got a beach). The water, the bridges, the little alleyways . . . It screams romance! Then I would go down to Florence, my most favorite city in the world. The Arno is gorgous at sunset, the art is, well, magnificent (I hear the Uffizzi. When it decides to be opened), and the BEST gelato in the world can be found in Florence, Italy (it's called Vivoli, off of Via Stinche; right down the road, left-hand turn, from il Duomo). And if you insist on being touristy, you can head down to Rome, for the history, the architecture, and all that other good stuff. Oh and the food! So yummy. I mean, I love Europe, would recommend other places, but since this IS a honeymoon, it's romantical all the way.

If you do decide to stay in Venice, see if you can get reservations at a hotel called Hotel Schiavonni. It's a darling hotel that has about eight rooms. You get breakfast every morning (prosciutto in the morning with coffee? HOT DOG!), the rooms are SO cute, and you get a key to the establishment. It's like living in a house for your time there. When I went, my friend and I accidentally wound up at their sister hotel, which was far away from the Schiavonni. The night manager of the Schiavonni locked up the desk, schlepped all the way to where we were, and carried our luggage and led us on a fifteen-minute walk to the hotel. He fed us and gave us drink, even though the kitchen was closed, and best of all, he did it with a smile. Best. Service. Ever.

    Congratulations!
