  1. a gelding is a male horse that has been castrated... (like a neutered dog)

  2. A gelding is a male horse with his testicals removed so that he can no longer breed.

Sounds cruel, but in order to inprove the breed, many breeders will geld all but a few exceptional horses. This help breeders get the better horses. And horses will breed like rabbits.

  3. A gelding is  castrated stallion. They still have an interest in mares and still like to be around them. They just don't have the testosterone that pushes them to bust down fences to get to them. When my mares come in for water, Geldings as well as Stallions will gather on the mare side of their pasture.

  4. A gelding is a male horse that can no longer reproduce other horses.

In other words he is a neutered horse. If you are still scetching on this seach castrated, gelded, geldings, stallions

  5. A gelding is a neutered male, just like a neutered dog. He has had his testicles removed so he cannot reproduce.

  7. A gelding is a male horse that has been neutured. So it was a stallion now a gelding

  8. a male horse that cannot reproduce they are easier to handle than stallions

  9. Foal-"baby" horse

    Colt-Male horse under age 4

    Filly-Female horse under age 4

    Weanling-6 months-1 year old foal

    Yearling-1-2 year old foal

    Mare-Female horse over age 4

    Stallion-Male horse over age 4

Gelding-Any age male horse that is gelded.

Gelding a horse is like nuetering a dog, but for horses.

  10. LOL, a gelding is a male horse that cannot breed so it is very safe to keep him with a mare.

A stallion is a male horse that can breed.

When people have male foals, they decide weather or not they want them to be kept entire (not castrate them)

If they want to castrate them, they remove their "bits" (testicles) so they can no longer reproduce and dont get the urge to mate with mares.

    Hope this helps

  11. a gelding is a male that is "chopped"

  12. like a fix male horse they cant have babies

  13. A gelding is a Stallion who has been Gelded. That's why they are called geldings. They cannot breed.

  14. a neutered male horse.

  15. A gelding is a male horse that used to be a stallion, but has been neutered.  This usually makes them calmer and less interested in mares (girls).  They can no longer reproduce, but make ideal mounts for any rider.  Stallions are quite the handful and only very expirenced riders should handal them (not all stallions are wacky, but most are and kids can't usually compete on them).

  16. It is the unkindest cut of all, a tragic condition which deprives a male horse of virility and vigor. It is emasculation by castration! :*(

  17. A gelding is a male horse who has been castrated.

  18. a gelding is a casteraded horse (cant breed)
