Question:

Horse bleeding?please help

i went over to my dads house today and when i went out to see his horses the mare had blood on her tail and it looked as if she had some on her rear i was wondering if this is a sign of coming into heat or something we need to call the vet about this was my moms job at one time and they just got divorced so my dad has no idea what to do please give me some ideas

  1. Your mare may well be in heat.  Scratch up near the top of her tail on either the left or right quarter and, if she puts her tail a bit over to the side, she is definitely in heat.  If she doesn't, I would call the vet.

    I have had horses and one mare in particular that was like that.
